How to Care for and Clean Your Glass Straws
Caring for a glass straw isn’t complicated — it’s actually easier than most people expect. Customers often ask, “But how do you clean a glass straw?” The truth: it’s just like any other piece of glassware, with a couple of simple tips that make life easier.
Best Ways to Clean Glass Straws
In the Dishwasher (Easiest!)
Our straws are made from super-strong, heat-safe glass (up to 1500°F), so they’re totally dishwasher safe. Just pop them in and let the machine do the work.
Pro tip: give your straws their own little section in the utensil basket so they don’t clink against metal utensils. It’s rare for them to ever get damaged this way, so let’s play it safe.
By Hand with a Brush
No dishwasher? No problem. Our custom, rust-free stainless steel brush + warm, soapy water = good as new. The 8″ brush works for any straw length we carry.
If you’re a smoothie lover, we especially recommend having a brush handy — those thick blends love to hang on if you don’t rinse right away.
Restoring Shine
If you live in a hard-water area and your straw gets cloudy, just soak it in distilled white vinegar for a bit, then give it a quick brush. Back to crystal clear.
Storing Your Straws
Treat your straws like any other glassware: don’t toss them loose into a cluttered drawer where they’ll get knocked around.
Our favorite straw storage solution? Store them out in the open in a mason jar. It keeps them safe, looks beautiful, and often sparks conversations when friends come over: “Wow, what are those?” It’s a daily reminder that you’re cutting down on single-use plastic — and doing it with style.
What to Do if a Straw Gets Damaged
Our glass is tough and built to last for years, but any glass item can chip or crack if dropped on hard surfaces. If you ever notice damage, stop using it immediately. Then request a replacement under our Lifetime Warranty.
Only a tiny percentage of straws ever break, but it’s good to know you’re covered for life. That’s our promise.
