Just for Kids On the Go
We’ve made a big change around here. We’ve changed one of our most popular styles of straws – the Just for Kids straw.
Previously our Just for Kids straws wouldn’t fit into our carrying cases. But a slight tweak to the bend and we now have a straw that is guaranteed to fit into our carrying cases! We love taking our Just for Kids straws when we visit a restaurant, we cut down on a lot of waste with this one simple move. Do you know why? Because when you have small children the waiter will always bring your child a plastic cup, with a plastic lid and plastic straw. ICK! We always request that they bring our children’s drinks in a regular glass just like they would an adult. Then, when they get their bent Just for Kids Strawesome straw in the glass it’s easy to sip without fear of the glass tipping over! A plus in the situation is how super cute your kids are when the waiter compliments them on their straw.
All of our Just for Kids styles have been updated. The classics, hues and designs. As well as our sets! And have you seen that we now make amethyst regular width Just for Kids straws?! YAY!
One of my favorite things to do is share my creations with children. I recently volunteered to bring 40 glass straws (in amber and black) to my 8 year old’s class Halloween party. My son had a opportunity to teach his classmates about glass straws and they were all excited when party time came and they got one of their own. They played a fun game with the straws, using suction to move cut-out shapes of paper to a bucket in a relay race called the Witches Brew.
We have two sets of our old style Just for Kids set of 4 decorative straws that we’re going to giveaway to two random winners. Comment on this post and tell us something cute your kids have said about glass straws (whether they have some of their own or have only seen pictures). We’ll randomly choose our two winners on Monday 11/4/2013. One comment per person please!
Peace and love ~ Daedra
My boys have seen them before while I was searching the internet. My oldest said “They are pretty like you Mommy.” Awww He is 4.
My kids kept hiding their straws so that they didn’t have to share with anyone! lol. They loved them.
My kids (grown) have not been on board with mom’s weird straws. Just a week ago my son said, “Since I found out I can put the straws in the dishwasher I have been using them. I like the way they feel on my lips. “. I chuckled and said, “Whatever works. You’re saving the planet and your lips feel good. Win, win.”
My kids fight over which straw is the “prettiest” all of the time to where we had to buy more of the decorative ones to keep peace 🙂
We just got our first strawesomes last week, and my three kids loved them with their smoothies! They are 5, 3 and 20m. The pink short straw fit perfectly in Tupperware Impression tumbler with straw seals for the 20mo. I got a few different kinds off the clearance page to try out, but the bent straws would be great! Sorry, they didn’t say anything ‘cute’, but they did love them!
my 3 yr old son calls our glass straws “space straws”. I’m not sure why, but he loves space so that is a def compliment 😉
I have no kids….If I could win, I will give to my friend’s little boy for surprise gift.
My 4 year old daughter loves her straw! She is so excited to tell a waitress/waiter “I’ll have water please and we brought our own straws, they’re glass and they’re the best. I would let you try it but everyone has to keep their own germs.” She even suggested that I should bring a spare “in case someone wants to try one”. I haven’t yet but I can’t tell enough people how wonderfully “strawesome” they are!
My daughter says they are just cool 🙂
My son has seen me looking at them on your site several times. He thinks the straws will make taking his vitamins “much more fun” every morning. He is 8 and is going to get a few in his stocking 🙂
My son loves his Amber straw for his smoothies. His favorite color is orange so he gets very excited over it.
I do have 1 straw & my youngest (4) just kept saying “Look how big that straw is!” My oldest is dying for one of these straws.
My kids think the ‘bendy’ straws are great, My 3yr old reminds me that they are made of ‘glass’ and don’t drop them mama!
My 5 year old and 2.5 year old LOVE their straws-my 5 year old will put his awesome glow in the dark straw in his mouth and try to convince the 2.5 year old he has magically transformed into a frog 🙂 So fun!
My five year old daughter thinks your straws look like straws a princess would use. She’s a princess, so I agree.
My daughter always wants to use mommy’s pretty straw with “the fancy drink” because the first time she saw me use it was when I made an Italian soda with whipped cream, and she LOVES whipped cream.
One daughter is a slurpee addict and claims the smoothie “slurps” better.
My kids just think the straws are fantastic, and said that we never have to worry about running out of the plastic ones anymore.
My daughter thinks glass straws are magic because we can keep using them!
The kids think pretty glass straws are made by the tooth fairy.
My twin daughters think their strawesome straws are very “Fancy Nancy” so that’s a compliment referencing their favorite children’s literature. Thanks for having the cool contest!
My little would love this to drink with her milk. Great straws.
My son had a big smile on his face when he saw the photos of your Just for Kids straws while I was browsing your web site, He said happily, “YAY!! I can have my own glass straws and never mix up with yours! Oh, I love that they handmake these glass straws in the USA. Wonder how long it will take to make one glass straw for me? I am so proud of him that he understands the benefits of buying products that are made in the USA. 🙂 (I have been casually talking with him about that since the last few months.)
My DD said I love the new , pretty glass straws , they don’t froze my lips like the shiny ones(stainless steel)LOL
My niece – aka “my” kid 🙂 – is sure that all of my shorter glass straws are for kids only. And, she should take them home with her because I don’t have kids to use them!
My son says they remind of him of icicles…except these are much more fun because your lips and tongue will not get stuck!
Wedont have any glass starws yet. i asked my 6 yr old what he thought it would be like to drink ut of a glass straw. He said wierd. i said but its glass, like you already drink out of. Yes, but it would be skinny, he replied.
My nieces love my glass straw and have asked for their own. They often use mine to eat soup and just yesterday said, “remember when I sucked up a really long noodle and you said it looked like a worm crawling up the straw! Watch this!”. And she sucked up another noodle. Glass straws make soup eating so much fun and less messy.
My kids have said they make water taste better lol
We always look at your website and they say the colors and designs are so pretty – my son wants a green and my daughter wants a purple. Maybe glass straws for everyone will be in the budget after Christmas!
All of our glass straws were in the dishwasher (which was in the middle of a cycle) and my daughter said “I’ll just wait to drink my chocolate milk until my straw is done. It’s just not the same without it!” 🙂
My daughter always wanted one of your straws; she said having one would be perfect at her princess parties!
I showed my son and he told me he NEEDED a blue straw. He’s 3, he thinks he needs everything but I agree with him on this one!
My son calls them awesome strawsomes. They fight over their straws
My children always race to see who is going to get the straw the color they want.
Me: “why do you like our glass straws?”
Sutton: “for smoothies” (duh implied)
Kelli! Congrats! You are one of our random winners. You can put these kids straws to good use with those cute boys of yours 🙂 I’ll email you for your address. ~ Daedra
My son isn’t talking much. But he makes it very clear he only wants his glass straw for his smoothie. We love strawsome!! And even more so that you guys are local
My daughter is already at school, but I’d anticipate she’d be thrilled that she could win kids’ straws for our church. We’re a UCC church that is trying to be as green as possible– and these’d fit right in!!
I tried to get my daughter to say something cute, but no luck.
This is the first I am hearing about your product. I am very interested. My kids love to drink out of straws and I have a bunch of reusable plastic ones that I wash in the dishwasher, but your glass ones sound really cool. I would love to have a set for my kids and the carrying cases are an awesome idea! I hope I win! 🙂
He wants to know why I won’t let him use mine! 🙂
My son calls mine the “special Mommy straw”, and it’s a big deal when he gets to use it. He’d love his own!
My 3 year old son calls his smoothie straw his ‘soup straw.’ It’s the only way I can get him to eat most soups, because he gets frustrated using a spoon still.
My daughter loves drinking out of glass straws . She liked picking a color and the ones that are bent are perfect for her. I like how they are reusable and they are pretty too
I have twin girls and they are always saying “ooh, I like ‘insert color’ that’s my favorite, can u buy me some?’ 🙂
Hi Karen! Congrats! You are one of our random winners! I’ll email you for your mailing address!

Thanks!!!! 😀
By Son and Daughter are only 1 and 2 years old. But they both already cant live without thier straws. One morning I made them a smoothie to share and only put one straw in thier cup so they could take turns and I would hold the cup when my oldest says, “Oh straw, sissy NEEDS straw mommy.” So I got up and got the second straw when I put it in the cup my sons says “OH CUUUUTE! SISSSY STRAW CUTE MOMMY! I like sissy straw, it’s ok sissy you can drink now.” I will try to post the pic of it on your FB page. It really was adorable and they shared the smoothie by both drinking at the same time, I was fortunate enough to have gotten a picture of it 🙂
My oldest daughter said she picked a clear straw because she likes cleanliness, but she doesn’t want me to tell anyone that because they might think that’s weird – lol! She also likes the clear because she can see the colors of what she’s drinking. My younger boy/girl twins prefer the colored straws & think their cool. 🙂
My 2 year old just says “stwaw!” Lol aww
I’m a nanny and the girls I take care of just starting using regular cups instead of sippy cups. They always see me using my Strawsome straw and they compliment me on the fun colors and love that they are “fancy”. I would love to surprise them with glass straws of their own so they they can feel like fancy princesses, too!
We’ve used several versions of your bent straws here – they are great for the kids’ breakfast smoothies and drinks with dinner. Our 6 year old prefers the tinted ones to the clear, having told us “They are jewels turned into straws.”
My step daughter loves her strawesome straw! She uses it constantly at our home. We recently went to visit friends and she was ecstatic to see that their kids had strawesome straws to!
We love our Strawsome straws. They have helped us become healthier.
My kids haven’t said anything memorable about their straws, but the do love them and request them a lot.
4 more would make it so we would be able to use them more often.
looks cool would like to try them!!!
My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with straws! She would absolutely love to have one of her own. We will use the straw for her morning smoothie.
I would love my child to try out one of your straws. So excited to see your near Milford. I has a sister that lives there.
My kids would love to try these.
My six year old always asks if I’m using my cup with the fancy straw in the morning.
My son who is five thinks that your glass straws are super cool. He hates to throw anything away…he even brings home his colored placemat from restaurants. He says a glass straw would be awesome because he could keep it forever!!
