Friend Friday Giveaway – Lunchbots

If you have anyone in your house that regularly eats lunch away from home then you NEED to check out LunchBots.

I personally have had great experience with this wonderful reusable product!  We use the thermal LunchBot with my first grader when he goes to school.  He loves the opportunity to get a warm lunch for a change.  Some of the things we send with him for warm lunch are: spaghetti, homemade vegetable fried rice, and homemade soups.

In a class full of 40 students my son is the only one to bring reusable lunch containers.  Everyone always asks him about his unique lunch containers and that opens up a opportunity for him to talk about why he isn’t throwing tons of trash away every year.  I feel proud in knowing that he is well educated in reusing instead of creating more waste, in fact it kills me when I have to send a fully disposable lunch with him for field trips!  I feel totally handicapped!

LunchBots has graciously offered to give one our readers a thermal LunchBot just like we use.  To enter the giveaway please comment and tell us who would use this great product and where would they take it?  One entry per person please, a winner will be randomly chosen and announced on our blog on Monday, May 14, 2012.

  1. In my family we could all use a lunchbot! But since my husband and I both work where we can reheat our food, I think my 9 year old son would benefit most from it. He has been using the reusable snack bags that I made for him with great pride, and was the talk of the class the first time he brought them in. I also use small mason jars to send him things like berries and applesauce. I risk my kitchen cutlery in his lunch daily, lol, as I refuse to buy plastic spoons/forks.
Fantastic giveaway, thank you for the opportunity to join in 🙂

  3. My husband Ron would love this. He gets so tired of cold sandwiches everyday. Being in the remodeling business he takes his lunch every day to many different places. Kinda tough to ask a homeowner can I use your microwave to heat my lunch.

  4. There’s so many choices!!! Would be great for taking snacks to the beach this summer. We are military and so blessed to be living in Fort Walton Beach Fl for a couple years. That would be really exciting to win and have a safe way to take our snacks. Thanks guys at Strawsome and Lunch Bots for making our world a little better.

  6. I would use the dark blue one for my youngest. They can’t use the microwaves at school until 5th grade. He’s only in first. So this would let him have a hot lunch every so often. Thanks for the giveaway.

  7. This would be great for road-trips. I always pack a lot of healthy options, but it would be nice to have something warm on the way.

  8. My husband would love this for his work lunches. He makes it a point to take nothing disposable in his lunches as much as he can, and like Adam, is often teaching others at work about why we use re-useable products as well as make all our food from scratch!

  11. Me. To work. As a side note have you ever thought of making half-length straws? I use them for fruit in a cup and applesauce for my son and I usually just cut a straw in half, just an idea.

  13. This product would be used by the entire family! We all pack lunch everyday using the regular Lunchbots — but this would be a great way to send hot meals such as oatmeal, mac n’ cheese, raviolis, & rice, beans and broccoli and more for my 3 year old’s lunch. 🙂

  14. My 2 year old, Samantha, would use the LunchBot at daycare. They cook there but I prefer to make her food. They serve on paper or styrofoam plates with disposable cutlery. I prefer living green and producing as little waste as we can. With a convenient Thermal LunchBot I can send a warm, home-cooked meal in a reusable item that would lessen our family’s waste footprint! She helps us recycle already – we’re teaching her early!

  15. My husband NEEDS one of these. He works outdoors in San Francisco and is always complaining about the cold. Would be great for him to be able to take something for lunch that will still be warm when he finally gets to it.

  16. As a non-traditional full-time student (well over ‘normal’ college age) since I became unemployed, I pack a lunch to eat healthy as well as save money. This would be a perfect addition so I could pack cold fruit salad in the summer or hot soup in the winter and then I could avoid the microwaves too! Of course, I may have to hide it from my husband! =) I will share it with him if I win, honest!

  18. My oldest kiddo would use it for taking his lunch to school. He has a box now, but there’s not a way to keep things warm for if he wants a hot lunch. And insulated box would allow him to do that on our cold and rainy days!

  19. Great giveaway!!

In our house any of us could and would use this!! My husband takes a packed lunch to work every day (and a thermal container would be IDEAL)!! Also, my son (21 months old) and I often do picnic breakfasts or lunches at the park and this would be a great container for use to take with us!

  20. My youngest grandson stays with me every Tuesday night, and that means I provide his lunch on Tuesday. It would be wonderful to increase his options for Wednesday lunch by using the Lunchbot. Of course, it would be nice for me to borrow it when I do a tabling event or festival for animal rights, too!

  21. My son has asked for the last half of the school year if he can just take Mac n Cheese for lunch, but I haven’t had anything to pack it in to keep it hot. He always packs his lunch and we always use reusable containers, but we don’t have anything for hot stuff. He would LOVE this!

  22. I need this. You’d think that ’cause I work in a kitchen I wouldn’t need to pack lunch. Not true!

  25. I would use it to put my grandson and my food in that we take off from the house. I get sick so easy and can catch anything. For i have no immunities to fight off infections. This would be nice i could prepare healthy foods for us to take and ot have to have food that someone else has handled for either one of us.

  27. My middle son would use this the most. He loves taking home lunches (he told me he loves the notes I put inside!). Sometimes, when there are leftovers of his favorite dinner, he wants to take it for lunch. I can micro items in other containers before he leaves for school, however, he tells me they’re not hot enough…and of course, it’s better when it’s hot! 🙂

    Thanks for the chance!

  29. What a cool item! I’m proud to say that my kids have never purchased a school lunch and use reusable napkins for their sandwiches (cloth on the outside and plastic on the inside) and a fun lunchbox (my 16 year girl old has a tin Iron Man box!). But I think they would enjoy a warm bite once in a while (or maybe ALL the time if they get to use this cool lunchbot!) Leftover rice with mushroom ragout would be a perfect fit, as well as soups and mashed potatoes, yummie… endless possibilities, really!
The elementary school where my youngest attends, became a ‘green school’ a few years ago, and they have fun with days like: Trashless Tuesdays, where the classroom with the most reusable containers during lunch time wins the ‘trash price’ for that week. My daugher will always encourage her class mates to participate!
Well, good luck to all participants!

  30. Everyone in my family would use lunchbots! I have been using the same Tupperware sandwhich containers for YEARS and they are all falling apart at the seams so winning a LunchBot would be perfect timing!

  32. I’m home in the days with my almost-3-year-old. We do an activity every morning. We would fill our lunchbot with fruit and bring it along to snack on!

  33. My daughters would have to share, they love taking bento lunches to school! It helps so much to have cute container to resist the urge to cave in to peer pressure of being all the same – most kids buy the nasty school lunches but they get lots of comments and envy with their bentos! Some kids even started bringing healthier snacks! Apples & nuts instead of packaged cookies & chips 🙂 right now we are using plastic but I’d like to phase that out.
