In the world of healthy living, there’s one local friend that I trust more than anyone. She has a wealth of information and is always helpful, kind and supportive. Today I’m happy that Angelle Batten is our Friend Friday focus!
In short, she’s a great mom and health coach (you can learn more about who she is here). What stands out to me about Angelle is that she exudes what it means to be a “coach”. I’ve seen her share so many uplifting words with her growing list of followers and never has she lost her cool. A coach doesn’t beat you down to build you up but instead builds you up so that YOU can choose to be your best. Angelle does this every single day of her life, her passion to help people reach their health goals really shines.
I have to say that she makes it super easy. She shows you how to take baby steps, and my favorite term of hers – to crowd out the fake foods. She leads you through what foods are “bridging” the gap to the REAL food world until you are so comfortable in your REAL skin such that you don’t have to think twice about what to eat. And all the while, if you fall down on your REAL food journey she’s always there to catch you and throw you back into the ring more equipped then ever, ready to fight. Then you become the boxer in the ring fighting away all the negative food influences and quite possibly making a change in someone else’s life as a result.
Make sure you check out all the classes she offers. Whether you’re local to southeast Michigan or not, you have an opportunity to connect with this wonderful resource.
One of my favorite tools is her recipes that can be found here. You can use the promo code MOMSROCK and instantly get 50% off any or all books. Two of the recipe books that I use the most are REAL Snacks and REAL Pantry. We like REAL Snacks because, well, I have little kids who always want to eat some junky snack from the store. This recipe book gives me tons of options that they love! REAL Pantry is great because it actually saves you a lot of money. Think of all the dressings, sauces and mixes you can buy at the store. Not only are they full of crappy ingredients, but they cost a lot of money! My absolute favorite is the ranch dressing mix – it’s incredibly easy, cheap and when mixed with a full-fat plain yogurt makes a great dip for veggies and more (like added hidden probiotics to keep everyone healthy).
Another great tool for anyone starting out is her FREE quick start guide. You can get your copy by signing up for her email list on the right hand side of this page.
For those of you that might be interested, I have more great news! Angelle is giving away two of the basics collection (a total of 8 cookbooks!) to one lucky reader. Enter the giveaway by commenting below (one comment per person please, extras will be deleted). One winner will be chosen on June 25, 2014 and will be notified via email.
